Annual NLG L&EC Breakfast

The 2012 annual NLG L&EC Breakfast will take place from 6:50 to 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday May 23 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park in the Regent Room on the 3rd floor.  Click here for a leaflet on the event which will be focusing on Labor and the Occupy Movement.  This breakfast is free for members of the L&EC and $30 for non-members (the cost of the breakfast at the hotel is $43).  No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Meeting of the NLG L&EC

7:00 to 8:00 a.m. 

Our NLG L&EC meeting during the LCC will take place from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 22 over coffee/breakfast -- it will end in time for the first plenary.  We are grabbing an unused room on the 3rd floor of the hotel - the Chancellor room.  Be there at 7 am.  We want to start on time as we only have an hour or so and lots to cover.  Get your coffee either from the hotel coffee shop (ENO) at lobby level or at the Starbucks just outside the hotel at B-1 level.  (To get to Starbucks, go to level B-1 of hotel and walk past the Business Center and continue down that hallway and turn as the hallway turns - then go out the doors into an office building area where you will find the Starbucks - it opens at 5:30 am.  Reverse your directions and get back to the elevators and go up to the 3rd floor of the hotel to the Chancellor room.)  The meeting is OPEN to all L&EC members and interested non-members.

Follwing the opening reception

The LCC After Party will take place following the opening reception on Monday May 21 at the home of Laurie Burgess at 5537 South Woodlawn Avenue, Chicago, IL. Mingle with mojitos and enjoy a light dinner with us!  Share a cab after the LCC reception (which ends at 7:30 pm) to Laurie's -- about $20 overall assuming that Lake Shore Drive is open -- if not open, the cab needs to go straight down State Street or get on the expressway (use your google maps to see what streets are busy).  The cab fare will be a bit more if Lake Shore Drive is NOT open.  Click here for the leaflet with a map and other info.
